Ok either way I love these little red fruits! My tomatoes did not do so well this year I had very few actually. I attempted to grow some in a container on the porch due to my limited mobility. I am grateful for what I did get though. However, for the past few weeks my aunt and uncle have been providing me with plenty of my favorite fruit. I went out and picked the last good batch of them yesterday along with some jalapenos.
So last night I started some spaghetti sauce made from fresh tomatoes. So, so good!
For brunch today I was more than happy to have some fried green tomatoes. I love summer food!
As for the jalapenos I plan on making some homemade jalapeno poppers.. I have never attempted to make them before so hopefully they turn out well.
Summer is winding down and I am definitely grateful for these delicious treats while they are in abundance. Thank You :)

It is that time of year. I posted about tomatoes today as well. My grandmother used to make fried green tomatoes, but I have to say i was never a fan--althoug I did like the book.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved fried green tomatoes but I make a healthier version by frying them in grape seed oil instead of lard :) I never read the book but I did see the movie it is great!
